MEETING

PROGRAM For our last meeting before our summer
break, we will all gather at the RISD Museum in
Providence for their Gallery Night program. From
6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., we'll join other Gallery Night attendees to hear a talk on Quilts and Coverlets by Madelyn Shaw. This will be part of their exhibition, Infinite Variety which includes pieced and appliquid examples from the early 19th century into the 1960s.
We will then convene our meeting with refreshments.
Afterward, feel free to enjoy the museum on your own,
including their Rhode Island furniture exhibit, or hop
the trolley to one of the many wonderful art galleries
in Providence.

PARKING FOR RISD MEETING: Gallery Night parking is
free at one of two parking lots: RISD has a parking
lot on Waterman Street up the hill a bit past Benefit
Street. There will b a sign, Gallery Night Parking.
If it is full, you can also park at the Citizens Bank
plaza downtown, about two or three blocks from the
museum. (Tell them you are going to RISD for Gallery
Night.) You can either walk up the hill from there,
or take the trolley to the museum. (NOTE: Plan on
getting to Providence a bit early to park and to walk
or ride the trolley to the museum.)

VOTE ON PROPOSAL TO MOVE ALL SHOWS TO CROWNE PLAZA 
Recently the membership voted by mail ballot on a
proposal to hold three shows a year, including the
Holiday Show, at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick and to
consolidate the separate show committees into one
committee to oversee all shows.

An impressive 73 members responded to the survey, and
the results were 55 votes in favor of the proposal and
18 votes against. As a result, the board has voted to
appoint Charlie McCaughey as Chair of the new show
committee, given the experience he has in working with
the Crowne Plaza. We will now begin planning our
first summer show at the Crowne Plaza, a one-day show
scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2005. (You will be
getting more information on this soon.)

Members of our two show committees, as well as any
other interested members, are invited to apply to join
this new show committee by contacting any Board member
by June 16, 2005. Together, the members of these two
committees bring a wealth of experience, expertise,
and hard work that have made our SNEADA shows premiere
events.

As we move in this new direction, we wish to thank the
chairs and members of both committees for their hard
work and success over these years, and look forward to continuing to work with all of you on this exciting new venture.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE At this months meeting we will
be assembling a nominating committee for upcoming fall appointments. We will be looking for volunteers!

WEB SITE COORDINATOR Sherrill Cyr has generously
offered to maintain and update the SNEADA web site.
Sherill has a lot of experience with selling via
several avenues on the internet, as well as experience
writing press releases, and is, above all, incredibly organized. Many thanks, Sherill!
