PROGRAM – Roundtable Discussion moderated by Gayl Spodaryk.
--Does the antique business have a future?
--And what does all this mean for SNEADA?

It goes without saying that the antique business “just ain’t what it used to be!”  Many factors beyond our control have had profound effects on our business.  The economy, war, rising fuel prices, lifestyle changes and the internet are just a few.  Are we just in a rut, a slow downward spiral, or a freefall!??  What trends are we facing?  What course should we, as individual dealers and SNEADA, as an organization, pursue? 

Antique dealers usually have an opinion about everything, and this will be the meeting to express it.  Everyone will have the opportunity to speak in an open and honest discussion.  The Crompton Veterans Home will provide us with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.  Please plan to join us!

Directions:  From Route 95 North—take exit 7 and go left.  Follow New London Turnpike 2+ miles.  At stop, go right to light (CVS on right.)  Take left at light to 2nd left (Pulaski Street) to 1st right onto Manchester to 1st left onto Hepburn.  Hall is almost immediately on left.

From Route 95 South—take exit 10B, Rt. 117.  Follow a few miles to (about the) 8th light.  (New London Ave./On the Roch’s will be on right/gas station on left.)  Take left.  Follow short distance to stop sign—go straight across (do not bear left) and a (short distance again) to 2nd right (Manchester)—1st or 2nd right leads to Hall (set back.)

NEW MEMBER – New member, Milly Grieve was voted in at SNEADA’s holiday party/meeting.  Welcome, Milly!

SHOW NEWS – Contracts have been sent and dealers are reserving their spaces for the upcoming Spring Antique Show to be held at the Crowne Plaza on March 25. 

Future Show:  Thanks to feedback regarding the Holiday Show timing, the date has been changed.  Instead of being held on the Friday/Saturday following Thanksgiving (Thanksgiving weekend) it will be held on the first Saturday (Saturday only) in December (December 1, 2007.) 

Passing – Former SNEADA member, Bill Haynes has passed away.  Bill was a long-time SNEADA member and past president of our organization from 1991-1995, as well as Dealer of the Year for 1995.  We appreciate Bill’s work on behalf of the organization and extend our condolences to his family
