MEETING
Monday, February 3, 2003 at 7:30 p.m.
Sheraton Airport Hotel
Waterford Room (conference center area)
1850 Post Road, Warwick, RI
PROGRAM - For our February meeting, we will have a presentation
on postcards by our own Wayne Swanson. Wayne will be bringing
many examples from the world of postcards. He will tell us what
is happening in the market--what to look for, what is hot
and what is not! You are encouraged to bring any cards that you
may have.
HOLIDAY SHOW - Attendance at the Holiday Show was
down by 15% from last years near-record turn-out, but the
crowd was in a buying mood and most dealers did well. The nearly
200 customers who were there for the opening bell jumped right
in and things started off with a good surge.
WEB SITE - We are please to announce that Diane
Dolphin, Dolphin Antiques, has agreed to administer the web site
for us. Diane was welcomed as a new member at the January Holiday
party. The site is being updated with the new information you
submitted, as shown in the 2003 brochure. It should be complete
by the time you receive this newsletter.
The message board is up and working. This is an
important feature for which you will be given details at the February
3rd meeting and in the next newsletter. Dont forget--you
do not have to have a computer in order to have your message on
the site. . . more later.
FUTURE MEETING NOTICES: For those of you with e-mail
addresses printed in the brochure, you will be receiving your
next newsletter via e-mail. If for any reason you still prefer
postal mail or if your e-mail address has changed, please advise
your corresponding secretary, Lilly Dufault, 401-789-1427 or rduf1868@cox.net.
HOLIDAY PARTY - The Holiday Party at Chelos
in Warwick was well attended and some strange things were unwrapped
at the Yankee Swap. It was a nice evening and a good way to spend
time with member friends.
PCD SPRING SHOW UPDATE - Peel n Stick Party:
Please join us on Wednesday, February 26, 7 p.m. at Joyce Nelsons
house. Well have lots of fun and refreshments. The more
people working, the quicker the job gets done! Please call Joyce
for directions 826-1441.
If you would like to volunteer to help the PCD Committee
in some way, please contact Phil or Mary Green. If you would like
to participate in the show and have not received a contract, please
notify Phil or Mary: 885-0392. Thank you!
We wish to extend our sympathies to Marry Gormally
on the recent loss of her mother and also to Ray Dufault on the
loss of his mother.
Good luck to Jan Wright and to Mae Childs as they
recover from their surgeries and to Greg Soder, as he too recovers
from surgery.
